If R1 is in series with parallel connected to R2 and R3, what happens to total current if R2 opens?

If resistors are in parallel and one is open the total resistance.
Will increase hence current will decrease.

If R2 is open then R1 & R3 will be in series so current should remain same.

This depends on which type of source we are using, current or voltage source.

Total I = i1+(i2+i3)....
If r2 is open then no current in that node and so total I= (i1+0+i3)...
So, overall current in circuit decreases.
Correct me if I am wrong.
