I think that the type of flow considered here is electron flow and not the conventional flow that is why the answer is C. But I think letter D should also be correct if the conventional flow was considered.
Electron flow (from (-) to (+) of source),
Conventional flow (from (+) to (-) of source).
Electron flow (from (-) to (+) of source),
Conventional flow (from (+) to (-) of source).

Whenever end of the resistor, the current is entering is positive with respect to the end of the resistor it is exiting.

It's not the polarity of the resistor but considered as the direction of flow of current.
