Guys its simple. Potentiometer actually used to vary the volume of electron flow(current). For ex TV volume controller. Assume we have a 1k potentiometer so when we start rotating towards maximum I mean towards 1k electron flow minimum but again come back in the reverse order the flow will be increased little. When we come minimum that is 0 then electron flow will be maximum this is how we control volume. Or tuners etc.

We know that potentiometer can be used for controlling both voltage and in turn current which is nothing but adjusting the resistance value. In audio power amplifiers, the speaker is connected to the load and this load resistance must be a variable one so that we can the volume of the output signal or sound.

In this question it is asking that, In which application potentiometer is using as a voltage divider/controller?
So definitely option A and B are not answers.
From option C and D, C is the answer as for volume controlling we actually dividing voltage.

Potentiometer is a device which containes a standard cell as reference and measuring the voltage of an unknown cell by using resistance bridge values.
So voltage of cell is related to volume of chemical in the cell.
Thus volume control am I ryt ? :)

A potentiometer informally a pot, is a three-terminal resistor with a sliding contact that forms an adjustable voltage divider. If only two terminals are used, one end and the wiper, it acts as a variable resistor or rheostat.

Potentiometer is also known as Volume control. Because potentiometer change the volume of voltage and current.
Naseem says rite volume control and current control are the applications of Potentiometer.

It will be wrong to say that potentiometre is only for volume control. Potentiometre has many application that is
1: Voltage control
2: Current control etc
1: Voltage control
2: Current control etc

Potentiometer is used as voltage divider. So it control the voltage therefore voltage control is the most correct answer.

Potentiometers are used to adjust the level of analog signals (for example volume controls on audio equipment).
