At reverse biased diode used in the circuit behaves as open circuit. As the diode produces infinite resistance. So current prevents for certain point i.e Breakdown voltage.

Reverse bias is a condition that essentially increases current through the diode ie, LED are always operated in forward bias, as for high input impedance, as low current flows through the conductor. If it was reverse bias high current flows which ultimately damage/burnt the diode.
