On the periodic table group 4 are semiconductor materials meaning that the electronic configuration will have 4 valence electrons.

Here intrinsic semiconductor means semiconductor without any impurity atom and pure semiconductor have 4 valence electron naturally in outermost shell.

The semiconductor materials are in the group 4, and all of them have 4 valence electron in its outermost shell.

The semiconductor materials are made up of group IV atoms like Si, Ge each having 4e in its valence shell.

As the semiconductor is pure i.e. intrinsic so it will b 4 as outermost 4 electrons take part in bonding. Can anyone say whether s it possible of semiconductors existence with 3 valence electron? :).

It is pure semiconductor. Its valency will be 4.

ATOM is electrical neutral when the number of PROTON is equal to the ELECTRON
Likewise in semiconductor, when the no of HOLES is equal to the number of ELECTRON.
NB
semiconductor is been charterized or is beeen known as GROUP 4 element e.g silicon and germmanium.

Atom to be stable we need to have 8 valency electrons. So that if we have nucleus as 4 then we can get 4 on valency electrons.
