Drift current in the simplest of terms is the current due to movement of electrons under the influence of electric field whereas diffusion current is due to diffusion of electrons under the effect of concentration gradient.

WHEN two opposite dope materials namely N-Type & P-Type material is joined together and recombination/diffusion of carriers occur which forms the P-N Junction or the Depletion Region.

A should be the most probable answer as any two opposite doped materials cannot form p n junction until and unless they are at microscopic level.

A p-n junction is formed when diffusion current becomes equal to the drift current.
