World War II was happened from 1939-1945. Transistor was inventened at 1947. Out of other options given only invention of transistor can be considered as the nearest time of WWII.

Transistor much efficient work then vacuum tube, tube is more complex then transistor, and also size different of both device you can also see.

Why it is development of the transistor?

Samta said:   10 years ago
Because vacuum tube are heavy and large in weight and size. So we need to construct a more reliable device than vacuum tube. So in 1943 a new device transistor replace the vacuum tube.

Transistor was invented in the year 1947.

And it is the basic material for development of any devices after world war 2 because VLSI and LSI technology came to play in 1980's.
