Is the formula Is=sqrt(Ir^2 + (Il-Ic)^2) not applicable?
Ir = 317/10k = 31.7mA
Il = 317/(2pi)(1.5k)(3H) = 11.21mA
Ic = 317/(1/2pi(1.5k)(0.01uF)) = 29.87mA
Using the stated formula above, I've got 36.75mA? Why?
Ir = 317/10k = 31.7mA
Il = 317/(2pi)(1.5k)(3H) = 11.21mA
Ic = 317/(1/2pi(1.5k)(0.01uF)) = 29.87mA
Using the stated formula above, I've got 36.75mA? Why?

There is another way to do it.
Xt = Xl-Xc.
Xl = 2*3.14*L*f = 28.26.
Xc = 1/(2*3.14*C*f) = 10.06.
Xt = Xl-Xc = 18.20.
Z = sqrt(Xt^2+Xl^2) = APPROX 21.
I = V/Z = 317/21 = 15.6.
Xt = Xl-Xc.
Xl = 2*3.14*L*f = 28.26.
Xc = 1/(2*3.14*C*f) = 10.06.
Xt = Xl-Xc = 18.20.
Z = sqrt(Xt^2+Xl^2) = APPROX 21.
I = V/Z = 317/21 = 15.6.

@M.V.Krishna/Palvoncha.
Why minus?
It=sqrt((Ir^2-(Ic^2-Il^2));
Why did you subtract the capacitor and inductor current from resistor current as the formula for total current is
I=(Ir^2+(IL^2-Ic^2))^1/2.

Since it in series .. we can easily put in direct formula.
z=sqrt(r^2+(xl-xc)^2)
i=v/z
z=sqrt(r^2+(xl-xc)^2)
i=v/z

I=V/Z
Z=sqrt(R^2+(XL-XC)^2)
Z=sqrt(R^2+(XL-XC)^2)

We know
Ir=V/R;
Ic=V/Xc;
Il=V/Xl;
Xc=1/(2Pi*F*C);
Xl=(2Pi*F*L);
Xc=10.6K;
Xl=28.2K;
Ir=31.7mA; Ic=29.8mA; Il=11.2mA;
It=sqrt((Ir^2-(Ic^2-Il^2));
It=15.6mA
