PLA - PLA is a programmable logic device with a programmable AND array and a programmable OR array.
PAL - PAL is a programmable logic device with a programmable AND array and a fixed OR array.
PAL - PAL is a programmable logic device with a programmable AND array and a fixed OR array.

PLA: both AND plane and OR plane are programmable.
PAL: Only AND plane is programmable, while OR plane is fixed. It is better to start with PAL.
