If a resistor in parallel would be opened then the total equivalent resistance would increase. Because we know that in parallel the total circuit resistance is always smaller than the smallest resistance, thus if a resistor becomes open in a PARALLEL circuit the total resistance increases and the total current decreases since there is now more resistance to oppose the current.

According to Thevenin theorem. In open circuit resistance, the current flow is zero, so the voltage also zero. So only the open circuit resistance was considered for finding the net Rth, so net resistance increase.

Dear anusha here resistor is open, so total resistance would increase. Current cannot flow in an open ckt, so current would b same.

This will decrease the resistance. So current should be the ans.
