As we know that, when capacitor stores energy transfer back to source.

Reactive Power (Power in Capacitor and Inductor).

As we know in case of resistive load power will flow from source to load but in case of capacitive and inductive load some power required to produce magnetizing current that is reactive power. And it is continuously back and forth between source and load that's why it effects power factor.
