Case 1: If transistor is in OFF condition collector current is High. output voltage Vo = logic 1 = Zero or Min resistance path.
Case 2: If transistor is in ON condition collector current Ic is LOW.because (Ic =Ib+Ie) total current goes to emitter terminal or ground. So output voltage Vo=logic 0 = Max resistance path.
Both cases resistance is variable Min(0) to Max(1).

TRANSICTOR MEANS TRANSFER RESISTOR , IN A TRANSISTOR I/P SIGNAL IS GIVEN TO LOW RESISTANCE PATH , O/P IS TAKEN FROM HIGH RESISTANCE SIDE ,SO RESISTANCE IS VARIABLE IN TRANSISTOR .

Transistor is itself a transfer of resistance (trans-istor means trans-resistor named by it).
Base or input side high to output side is low resistance offered.
Base or input side high to output side is low resistance offered.

by transistor current can be vary so resistance can also varies by increasing or decreasing the battery voltage

We can change the o/p current by changing the i/p resistance so transistor is used as a variable resister.
