A system can give digital or analog output as required. Input is analog in nature which is to be converted necessarily. Thus, the word 'may' tells us that a data conversion system may be used (for output), not necessarily.

Because a computer processor can't identify the signal if it is analog. So it need to convert it in ascii form which generate a digital data corresponding to analog so a processor sense it properly.

Already the system is digital. Data conversation is mentioned and that should be digital and interface is used for input or output. And analog is used for communications, so output device.

First the input signal is analog signal then it is converted into digital form then it is transfered to receiver. The digital signal change into analog signal.

Why analog output device not analog input device? clarify it because interface is used both for input and output devices?

Here the answer should be both A & C, because interfacing is done for both input and output purpose.

In my opinion the input should be analog in data conversion process. So the answer should be option C.
