Percentage Resolution = (Step Size/ Full Scale O/P) *100 or (1/2^n-1) *100. It is independent of the Voltage Range.

Here Step Size = 5/2^n-1 = 5/63 = 0. 079.
Percentage Resolution = (0.079/5) *100 = 1.56%.

Thanks @Vaishak.

% resolution = (1/2^n)*100.

R = BETA(Vmax-Vmin)/2^n-1. Here beta depends on amplifier or filter. But in this question have no value of beta.

The resolution of a DAC is the reciprocal of the number of discrete steps in the output. This, of course, is dependent on the number of input bit.

As I know that If we are not familiar with Vref then:

Resolution = 1/2^n.

If we are given Vref then, Resolution = Vref/2^n.

Here n = number of bits.

Resolution of DAC : V/(2^(n-1)).

The given we is 0-5v so resolution is 15.625.

Answer is D.

I still don't get how you get this answer.

If I have a 6 bit DAC I have 64 outputs(000000-111111), So when the input is 5V, the output is 111111. Then the voltage needed to increment from 000000 to 000001 is 5/64=0.078125. The percentage is 7.8125.

I don't know much. But I think percentage is represented when the input is 0-1V. Then 1/64 = 0.015625 = 1.5625%.

Resolution = 5/64 =. 078

In %age = (.078/5)*100 = 1.56%

Resolution=1/2^n-1
Here n is number of bits
So here resolution=(1/2^6-1)*100
(1/63)*100=1.58%
