What about AC meter?

Then, What about an AC meter?

I can't understand. Please explain it clearly.

In DC, deflection angle θ is directly proportional to current if scale is linear.

In AC, θ is directly proportional to current*current then is nonlinear or cramped.

As V=IR. Θ directly proportional to volts *volts. This is possible with AC meters only. Hence DC meter reading is zero.
