Obviously, the radius of the satellite is much smaller than the earth so use a narrow concentrated beam for uplink.

At earth station uplink freq can be generated at high. But at satellite due to space problem and limited power downlink freq is kept low.

The uplink distance is similar with downlink distance. So, what is the purpose of high uplink frequency?

This happens because it is not possible for us to put high powered amp on satellite due to its space. That's why up link is always higher than down link,
