It does not specify here the correct type of thyristor if thyristor is npnp the answer is n nearest to cathode but if pnpn it is p nearest to the cathode.

Pnpn type gate terminal connected to p layer nearest to cathode. Whereas for npnp type gate terminal is connected to n layer nearest to cathode.
