A single phase energy meter has the rating 1200 resolutions/ kWh. If a 500 W electric gadget is used for 4 hours, the energy meter will make
1200 revolutions
1800 revolutions
2100 revolutions
2400 revolutions
Answer: Option
Explanation:

0.5 x 4 = 2 kWh = 2 x 1200 revolutions.

1200--->1kwh.
?---->500w 4h.

500w=0.5kw.
0.5kw*4h=2kwh.
12000--->1kwh.
?---->2kwh.

Ans=> 2400.

@Swapnil.

Converting Watts to KiloWatts. In 1KW there is 1000watts So, 500W(1KW/1000WATTS) = 0.5.

What's the process of 500/1000? Please explain.

Here in question they have given 1200 revolutions per kwh.

Power = 500 watt time = 4 hrs.

To convert watt to kilo watt we have divide with 1000 then we get as 500/1000 = 0.5 kw.

Kwh = 0.5x4 = 2 and 2xno.of revolutions per kwh = 2x1200 = 2400 revolutions.

500 w converted into Kw i.e 500/1000 = 0.5 kw.
