Atomic number is the number of protons/number of electrons. In sodium number of protons =number of electrons =11 so atomic number is 11.

And it is not dependent on crystal lattice.

NaCl - has face centre cubic lattice which has 6 NaCl for unit cell.

THEREFORE EVEN ATOM CAN HAVE CUBIC LATTICE.
THEN CUBIC LATTICE OF Mg.
There are 8 types of unit cell which is an answer.
