The carrier wave does have the modulating signal w/c carries the information but not the carrier itself.

The carrier wave doesn't carry much information itself. Because it was used alone with the modulating input signal to superimpose with others to move information from one point of end tx to another point rx without any loss of signal strength/amplitude.
