In television broadcasting, particularly in analog systems like NTSC (National Television System Committee), the color subcarrier and sidebands resulting from its modulation with the chrominance signals are interleaved within the standard channel width. This allows for efficient use of the available frequency spectrum, ensuring that both the luminance (brightness) and chrominance (color) information can be transmitted within the allocated bandwidth. Interleaving helps prevent interference between adjacent channels and maximizes the utilization of the frequency spectrum.

Interleaving:

Interleaving is the reordering of data that is to be transmitted so that consecutive bytes of data are distributed over a larger sequence of data to reduce the effect of burst errors. The use of interleaving greatly increases the ability of error protection codes to correct for burst errors. Many of the error protection coding processes can correct for small numbers of errors, but cannot correct for errors that occur in groups.

Burst error means when we try to transfer 10001 or any binary number. Then if two digits or more digit of that no is changed while transferring then we called this error burst error.

Difference between interleaving and amalgamation? Is both refers to same meaning?
