To prevent a DC return between source and load, it is necessary to use
resistor between source and load
inductor between source and load
capacitor between source and load
either (a) or (b)
Answer: Option
Explanation:

Capacitor offers infinite impedance to DC.

Have some doubts. The options should include diode, optocoupler etc. Because as caps blocks dc, there will be no current from source to load either. The purpose of using caps in dc circuit is to provide stability i.e. parallel connection across loads.

DC Return means, sometimes the circuit gets reserve current called leakage current. In order to prevent return/excess currents, we have to use like Diodes or capacitors across affected elements.

Dc return replace by dc current and answer C is right because capacitor creates high reactance on low frequency current. Xc = 1/2piefc.

In a DC, the value of capacitive reactance is infinite because of frequency zero so in dc no return path is there.

@Pramod.

Total opposition offered by an AC circuit to flow of AC is called impedance.

InDC circuit by putting a cap in parallel how it provides stability?

capacitor blocks DC and allows AC,means it prevents the return of DC

The capacitor will be polar type to use in between source and load.

Then how the capacitor allows dc to flow from source to load?

Prevent means to avoid DC so capacitor block dc.
