It should be clear that the given circuit is a common collector amplifier and all common collector amplifiers have voltage gain approximately equal to 1. It means that the output will simply "follow" the input. That is why this configuration is also called as an emitter follower.

The voltage is taken from collector Vcc. And the emitter is the one that indicates current flow which is grounded so this is CE amplifier.

This is a common collector amplifier. In a common emitter the output voltage is taken on the collector side.
