No, to trigger an SCR you need to connect a triggering circuit to its gate with ample amount of gate current the SCR could be triggered thus a UJT would be acceptable. Another way of triggering an SCR is by applying voltage from anode to cathode and increasing it until it reaches a breakover voltage and enter conduction. Another way is by increasing the temperature of the SCR it would cause the SCR to fire since it is sensitive to temperature.

Yes, 4 Layer Diode is to SCR, and DIAC is to TRIAC
