Normally diode has dopped with 2 type of materials i.e., p type and n type. In order to make contacts between 2 materials 2 terminals are used.

The diode have two terminal p-type and n-type.

A diode is basically a p-n junction device where p-type (positive) is one terminal and n-type (negative) is another terminal.
