Initially in jfet we have entire channel for the purpose of conduction. Here we use V(gs) to reverse bias the pn junction such that to control the channel thereby I(ds).
But in e-mosfet initially we does not have any physical channel. Here we use V(gs) to enhance or to create the channel thereby controlling I(ds).
