A self-biased n-channel JFET has a VD = 6 V. VGS = –3 V. Find the value of VDS.

Vgs = Vg - Vs since it is in self-biased Vg = 0.
Vs = 3 then,
Vds = Vd - Vs = 6-3 = 3V.
Vs = 3 then,
Vds = Vd - Vs = 6-3 = 3V.

Vs = Vg+3, Vg==0.7 = 0.
Vds = Vd-Vs = 6-3 = +3.
Vs = Vg+3, Vg==0.7 = 0.
Vds = Vd-Vs = 6-3 = +3.
