How come that gmo = gm?
Because the formula is Av=gmRd.
Because the formula is Av=gmRd.

This is a common source amplifier with source degeneration. And Rs is not given. Is this some kind of trick question?

Here amplification factor = Rd * gm.
= (2.2 * 10^3) * (4.0 * 10^-3).
= 8.8.
Vds = amplification Factor * Vin.
= 8.8 * 20.
= 176 mv.
= (2.2 * 10^3) * (4.0 * 10^-3).
= 8.8.
Vds = amplification Factor * Vin.
= 8.8 * 20.
= 176 mv.

Amplification factor is trans-conductance*rd.
Vds= Amplification factor*vin.
176 mV p-p.
Vds= Amplification factor*vin.
176 mV p-p.
