Here they have not mentioned the type of diode whether it is si or Ge then how it is possible to use the value 0.7?

Yes @Ammu is right as the curve has knee at almost 1 volt on voltage axis so we can assume it as 0.7v.

As we know it is V=IR.

I = V/R.

I = (5 - 0.7)/1K = 4.3 mA.
