As we know, the common collector has unity voltage gain and high current gain, the input voltage is almost equal to output voyage.

Output voltage equal to input voltage. i.e voltage gain is unity.

Buffer means which gives the same output when you gives input.
i.e input = output.

Common collector is a voltage buffer. So, output voltage is same as the input voltage.
