Since this has no bypass capacitor installed, the gain is much less dependent on r'e whereas Av = Rc/RE = 2500/5 = 5.

The low-frequency gain is -~5 - Rc/re + Re.

The high-frequency gain is -Rc/re (~-595) but only if Ce is fitted, which it isn't in this circuit.
So the gain remains ~5.

Sorry, but this is wrong. It's not a common base to use such formulas.

If you represent the ac model properly and use the V0 = -gm*Vbe*R0 you will find out that the answer is 595.

How did you conclude that this is a common-base amplifier?

How calculate the RE?

Voltage Gain = Rc/(re + Re).

Here re is negligible (re = 26/6 = 4.34 ohm).

Av = Rc/Re.

Av = 2.5*1000/500 = 5.

Av=Rc/re, where re=26mv/Ie, where Ie=6mA from previous problem.

re=26/6=4.34ohms.

Av=25/4.34=5.

Av=Rc/Re
