Band pass filter rejects frequencies from f(lpf) to f(hpf).

LPF = only allows low-frequency component.
HPF = only allows the high-frequency component.
BPF = only allows the specific band of the signal.
BSF = only allows the other than a specific band of the signal.

Also called band-elimination, band-reject, or notch filters, this kind of filter passes all frequencies above and below a particular range set by the component values. Not surprisingly, it can be made out of a low-pass and a high-pass filter, just like the band-pass design, except that this time we connect the two filter sections in parallel with each other instead of in series.

A band stop or band reject or band elimination filter has a subtractor that removes the specified band rather than a summer as in other filters.
