As in case of ideal transformer the demagnetising ampere turns should be equal and opposite to magnetising ampere turns therefore
I1*T1=I2*T2

means to say that current in each winding is inversly proportional to no of turns(no of turns is directly proportional to voltage)

therefore when the voltage is stepped up, means that that winding has more no of turns than the other one, therefore there will be low current in comparision to other winding.

In tranformer power & freq are transmitted.

These factors not be changing, in case the given transformer is step up (or)step down is not the thing.

Input power = Output power.

We know that according to ohm' law rho is directly proportional to current and inversely proportional to I. Hence I and V are inversely proportional to each other.

For a transformer output power is constant so, if voltage increases automatically current will dicreses why because we know that

Power P= V*I

In transformer the power and frequency always remains the same hence when the voltage is stepped up then the current will be stepped down.

For the power to be of same magnitude at secondary side of transformer if voltage is stepped up proportionally current has to be reduced.

Input power is equal to output power because of transformer principle without a change in power. So voltage down means current increase.

If transformer voltage is inversly proportional to current. so current step down.

P=V*I : V=P/I

@Calphonse

Please tell me how it is by using voltage principle.

For transformer voltage and current are inversely propotional.
