Please give me correct explanation for this question came in KPCL. They gave different answer that what you gave above 120-8.5 = 111.5.
But in KPCL answer key they gave different answer. And I applied the same logic as Indiabix mentioned.

(N2/N1)>1 That is step up transformer.
(N2/N1)<1 That is step down transformer.
Eg. n2=15 n1=3.
For step up answer will be 5 which is greater than 1.
For step down answer will be .2 which is less than 1 so,
It is clear that.

Please to mention the transformer is step up or step down.

input = output + losses
output = input - losses
output = 120 - 8.5 = 111.5
output = input - losses
output = 120 - 8.5 = 111.5

For this we don't need to consider the secondary loss?

In a transformer input power=output power
here input is 120, and some energy lost..hence output will be......Input-Losses=Output
here input is 120, and some energy lost..hence output will be......Input-Losses=Output
