With dc connected source no voltage will appear across secondary.

Dc voltage porduce no flux varing field so no emf will be indused and no output will be gerated.

Induction principle does not work on DC Voltage

For dc inductor acts as short circuit as frequency is 0.

Transformer works on the principle of mutual induction & for dc supply, no induction would take place.

Battery is no frequency so, secondary side no voltage induce.

Prasath said:   1 decade ago
there is no secondary side windings because the ratio is given as 8 only at primary side so the output is 0.

Constant supply gives constant flux but flux will not linkage with stationary conductor so no induce emf.

With dc input transformer gives zero secondary voltage. That means can't operate.

I think 6v DC is sufficient to burn transformer welding because cu winding resistance is too less.
