Definition of turn ratio is N1/N2.

Definition of the turns ratio of transformer is n1/n2 and not n2/n2.

So turns ratio is n1/n2 = 400/2000 = 1/5 = 0.2.

This answer is wrong because for step-up transformer turn ratio a<1, for step-down transformer turn ratio a>1. The turn ratio is N1/N2, answer is 0.2.

Transformer ratio = K = N2/N1.
K = 2000%400 = 5.

As we know that the transformer turn ratio N2/N1 so that 2000/400 = 5 so answer is C correct.

Even I think the answer should be 0.2 as turns ratio indicate primary to secondary turns of transformer.

So here it is 400/2000 = 0.2.

If someone feels wrong please explain clearly.

I think the answer must be 0.2 as we N1=400 and N2=2000 so the ration should be 1/5 not 5/1.

Answer is 0.2 only or else Tell me the difference between turns ratio and transformation ratio.

Turns ratio = n1/n2 = 400/2000 = 0.2.

Transformation ratio = n2/n1.

Here turns ratio is asked not transformation ratio.

N2/N1 is a transformation ratio.

Hence obviously 2000/400 = 5.
