In a Y-Y source/load configuration, the
phase current, the line current, and the load current are all equal in each phase
phase current, the line current, and the load current are 120° out of phase

Load current means the current appears across appliances (resistance).

Here line current is the current measure across transmission line and phase current is the current measure across the phase of star or delta connection.

What exactly is this load current? Can understand line current and phase current?

Delta connection are used transmission and star connection are used distribution line.

Where we can use star and delta connection?

@Rasheed.

Why?

RASHEED said:   1 decade ago
It is simple to memory:

SIDE:
SI-(S)STAR CONNECTION (I)CURRENT SAME.
DE-(D)DELTA CONNECTION (E)VOLTAGE SAME.

In star connection phase current equal to line current so that Line voltage equal to root3 times phase voltage.

Consider star connection
Iph=Il / 3^1/2
Vph=vl

So the answer is A.

In a Star connection.

Current remains same but line voltage is root 3 times of phase voltage.

In a delta connection.

Voltage reamins same but line current is root 3 times of phase current.

In star connection

1. Line current=phase current
2. V-line=root3*V-phase

where as in delta connection quite opposite.
