For Tank circuits, the resonant frequency is determined by the values of Inductance (L) and Capacitance (C). For this reason, whenever the inductor and capacitor components are connected in series or in parallel, they have a resonant frequency. And as previously stated, resonance in tank circuits occurs when XC = XL.

Actually, the series resonant circuit is known as acceptor circuit or Voltage Magnifying circuit or Voltage Resonance Circuit.

Parallel LC circuit is known as tank circuit.
