Given 45 degrees.

Xc/R = tan-1 45.

So Xc = R.

@Hareesh, What you said is right. But the question is to mention the condition for phase angle above 45 degrees so Xc>R.

It is not tan-1. It is tan inverse.

When r>Xc;
tan-1(r/Xc) will be more than 45 degree.
