In a certain three-branch parallel circuit, R1 has 12 mA through it, R2 has 15 mA through it, and R3 has 25 mA through it. After measuring a total of 27 mA, you can say that
R3 is open
R1 is open
R2 is open
the circuit is operating properly

Open circuit resistance shows the maximum.

12 + 15 + 25 = 27
52-27 = 25
So, R3 open.

It is a parallel circuit. If one resistor open at that time also current will flow.

Mabe said:   8 years ago
Current will be 27mA only if R3 was open.

You are right @Atul.

If R3 is open then how the current will flow through it?

Total current = sum of the Current across the resistor,
I=I1+I2+I3=12+15+25=27+25=52 ma,So current across R2=27 MA when R3 is open.
