Nm = 90 * 60 = 5400 rev/min.
W=2π * Nm/60.

W= 2*3.14*5400/60 = 565 rad/second.
W= 2π*f.
F=W/2π.
F=565/2*3.14= 90,
Answer is 90.

Each side of the coil will pass in front of the North pole two times/rev. (gives max output voltage in one direction) and will pass in front of the south pole two times/rev. (gives max. Output voltage in the opposite direction).

This means; output voltage will reach maximum two times in one rev.

Then output voltage will reach maximum 180 times in one second (2*90) = 180.

It is why because for one revolution means one complete cycle of the wave. It means for one complete wave there will be two half cycles.

In each half cycle it touches the peak once. So for one revolution 2 times and for 90 revolutions 180 times.

It is given 90 REV/sec. So frequency is 90 Hz (i.e 90 complete cycles).

It has 90 +ve half cycles and 90 -ve half cycles.

Since it is DC generator, due to action of commutators (split rings) and carbon brush the -ve half cycles are rectified into +ve half cycles.

So in total, it got 180 peaks.

Happy learning.

F is frequency and what is that 2?

What is F?

F = NP/120.

Basic one loop generator has two pole.

N = 90*60 rpm.

F = 5400*2/120 = 90.

Answer is 90*2 = 180.

Guys it has been mentioned that its DC. So only +ve peak twice in one cycle.

1 cycle is completed in 1 revolution. And in one cycle it obtains two times max value. Therefore 2*90 = 180 times.

Here taking 2 cycles per 1 revolution in one loop generator.

So, 90 rev = 2*90 =180.

Now 180 times will reach the maximum peak value.
