Because when we connect capacitor in series their value is very small and hence it take zero value.
When 'L' is connected in parallel then their value becomes zero.
When 'L' is connected in parallel then their value becomes zero.

XL is directly connected to voltage source (VS) and therefore it is redundant. Hence, XL has no effect on the result.

No effect because inductor is not participating to finding the Rth and Vth.
