PAL (Programmable Array Logic) - It is One-Time Programmable (like EPROM).
GAL (Generic Array Logic) - It is Erasable and Re-programmable (like EEPROM).

GAL device was an innovation of the PAL and was invented by Lattice Semiconductor.
