In Boolean algebra,
AND
F = A. B F is equal to A & B.
OR
F = A + B F is equal to A or B.
NOT
F = Bar A, F is not equal to A.
AND
F = A. B F is equal to A & B.
OR

OR gate performs addition. AND gate performs multiplication. NOT gate performs inversion.

As discussed earlier, OR gate performs addition. So it represents '+' sign.
