I answer the question for @Prasad continuous means the values are in analog signals, example waves (sound waves, etc) imagine that one then you can understand the continuous range. There is no any bit to bit time interval.

Digital values are discrete in nature unlike continuous values.
By sampling continuous signal we can get digital values. So digital values change throughout continuous values.

Because only analog varies with respect to time like 1,1.1,1.2,1.25,etc and digital varies in intervals like 1,2,3,etc
