For example, Employee supervises Employee, here supervise can be a recursive relationship, where Employee is the only entity.

Recursive entity set means one entity set is related to itself, otherwise one or more entities are related with another via relation table.

Because recursion is nothing but the mechanism of calling statement to itself so it is also same here.
