Which Indian state launched the country’s first national-level 3D-printed rural housing pilot under the PMAY-G 2.0 scheme?
Answer: Option
Explanation:
Andhra Pradesh launched India’s first national-level 3D-printed rural housing pilot under the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana–Gramin (PMAY-G) 2.0 scheme. The project covers 177 houses in Guntur district, with 100 houses planned for Burripalem and 77 for Obulnayudupalem/Pothuru. It uses 3D Concrete Printing (3DCP) technology, which constructs building components by depositing specially formulated concrete in successive layers using a computer-controlled printer. The project has an estimated cost of approximately ₹13.93 crore, excluding taxes, and is expected to be completed in around six months. CSIR-Central Building Research Institute (CBRI), Roorkee, will provide technical assistance. The initiative aims to explore faster construction, improved precision and reduced material wastage in rural housing.
