Rajasthan launched the Water Plan 2047 under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma to strengthen long-term water security across the state. The roadmap integrates the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP) with the Parbati-Kalisindh-Chambal river interlinking project to improve water availability. It also aims to achieve 100% drip and sprinkler-based micro-irrigation in desert districts by 2035, mandates rooftop rainwater harvesting systems for commercial and institutional buildings, and proposes transferring surplus river water from southern Rajasthan to arid western regions.
