Tamil Nadu launched the Singappen Special Force as a dedicated initiative to improve the safety and security of women and children across the state. The force was inaugurated by Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay at Rajarathinam Stadium in Chennai in the presence of Director General of Police Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal. The specialised unit is tasked with monitoring and patrolling public places, identifying vulnerable locations, preventing harassment, and increasing police visibility. The initiative aims to create a safer environment through proactive policing and community participation, ultimately fostering a women and child-friendly society while strengthening public confidence in law enforcement.
