Odisha, in partnership with Singapore’s Global Finance & Technology Network (GFTN), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a FinTech hub in Bhubaneswar. The focus of this collaboration is on InsureTech innovation, aiming to support India’s goal of “Insurance for All” by 2047. The initiative will drive financial inclusion and foster a sustainable ecosystem for InsureTech in Odisha, leveraging global expertise. This strategic partnership aligns with the state’s broader vision to enhance its role in the FinTech sector.

The National Institute of Mental Health Rehabilitation (NIMHR) was inaugurated in Sehore, Madhya Pradesh, by Dr. Virendra Kumar. With an investment of ₹127 crores, the institute includes facilities like a Cross Disability Early Intervention Centre and Pradhan Mantri Divyasha Kendra. This initiative aims to support mental health and empower Divyangjan, emphasizing the government's focus on mental health rehabilitation and inclusive development.

Maharashtra has taken a pioneering step by establishing a 16-member AI Policy Taskforce to draft its Artificial Intelligence Policy 2025. This initiative positions Maharashtra as the first state in India to focus exclusively on a dedicated AI policy, aiming to leverage the rapid growth of AI-based industries and set a benchmark for technological advancements in governance and industry.

The Eco-Sensitive Zone (ESZ) has been declared near the Shikari Devi Wildlife Sanctuary in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. This zone, covering 43 villages within a 2 km radius, was established under the Wildlife Protection Act, of 1972, to help reduce deforestation, mitigate human-wildlife conflict, and regulate development. Sustainable activities, like organic farming, are encouraged, while harmful practices such as mining and deforestation are strictly prohibited. This initiative aims to preserve the sanctuary's ecological balance.

The Odisha government has introduced a ₹20,000 monthly pension scheme for individuals who were imprisoned during the Emergency period (1975-77) under the Maintenance of Internal Security Act (MISA). This pension also includes medical expense coverage for those eligible individuals who are alive as of January 1, 2025. Applications for this pension can be submitted to the Collector and District Magistrate, provided they include supporting detention documents and details of co-detainees.
